Why Franklin Joins the GTA 5 Cult, by U4GM

Children of the Mountain is one of those GTA 5 side activities that looks like it must hide a big payoff. It does not. Franklin gets pulled into an online self-help cult that diagnoses his problems before it knows anything about him, then keeps asking for cash. If you're saving up for properties, cars, or just prefer to buy GTA 5 Money for other goals, this is probably not where you want to spend it. Still, the whole thing is worth seeing once because Rockstar makes the player part of the joke.

What Franklin Pays at Each Step

Stage Cost What happens
Personality test $0 Franklin receives the password FUTILITY
Word test $199 A timed puzzle runs, solved or not
Later courses $14,998 Slideshow, ACTUALITY, agreement, T-shirt

The full bill comes to $15,197. That is a lot for a certificate and a shirt sitting in Franklin's wardrobe. To start, play as Franklin and progress past The Merryweather Heist. Brother Adrian should contact him after some in-game time. You can then use the phone or a computer to open the cult's site. The first questionnaire is fixed from the start. Pick whatever answers you like; the group will still decide Franklin is lost and in need of its guidance. The email password is FUTILITY, which is not exactly subtle once you know where the joke is heading.

Stage two costs $199 and gives you the scrambled-word test. You can solve terms such as Divine, Awareness, Denial, Perception, and Potential, but you do not need a perfect score. Plenty of players stress over the clock, then find out the page moves on anyway. Franklin's driving skill can slow time if you activate it while parked in a vehicle before reopening the test, though it changes nothing important. The next payment is $4,999 for a slideshow. After that, the email password is ACTUALITY. One more $9,999 donation opens the last questionnaire, where agreeing with every prompt gets the job done.

There is no secret heist, mountain settlement, or child-NPC connection waiting behind this activity. It is not part of GTA 5's 100% checklist either. The cult's name refers to followers, not literal children, and the expensive process is really a small parody of paid enlightenment. It suits Franklin because he wants a different life and keeps meeting people who claim they can show him the way. For players browsing GTA V Accounts and planning a fresh run, treat Children of the Mountain as a character moment rather than an investment. The T-shirt is basically the receipt.
